Yes, if : You pick up American channels using your antenna and your tv is not digital.Canada is not due to be changed to digital broadcasting until 2011. If you live close enough to the border and you pick up American channels using your antenna, you will have to meet certain requirements to continue to watch American channels.
You need either:
1) a digital tv, or
2) an analog tv with a converter box
Canadians do not qualify for the government discount program so you will have to pay full price for a converter box. If you can't find a good deal in Canada for a converter box, you can always pick one up on your next trip across the border. Prices in the US range from $40-$70 dollars. You can go to Walmart, Best Buy, Circuit City, Radioshack, Target, KMart, Sears, etc. You should call ahead to make sure converter boxes are in stock.
